A voluntary, non-profit organization motivated to address chemical dependence and other addictions in South Africa - through offering a prevention program, free of charge, and therefore making an impact in our country's future. Established over a decade ago, our members are from all walks of life. They have gone through the horror of drug or alcohol abuse and other addictions, have come free and now live fulfilled lives.

Gambling

Gambling is an addictive behaviour, make no mistake about it! It has all the properties of a psychoactive substance, because it changes the neurochemistry of the brain.

One of the main symptoms of gambling addiction is that it becomes an overriding passion of the gambler's life. An inability to stop gambling and continuing despite negative consequesences are also characteristics of gambling addiction.

It starts out as a recreational activity and progresses to a compulsive behaviour, which becomes the main focus of a gambler's life.

Pornography

No need to wonder whether pornography in its many forms is addictive. Just ask any porn addict, they will tell you how powerful its hold is. With the internet and its availability on mobile devices (like cell phones) it has become increasingly easily accessible. Years ago it was a crime to sell pornographic material, now it is available on your phone and computer.
